Good manners

Front gardens, of course, belong to whoever owns the house behind them. How they are designed and maintained should be a matter of pride of ownership. It is also a matter of good manners: of thinking about what will contribute to the look of the street as a whole, and to the enjoyment of people passing bye.

Poorly maintained gardens at one extreme just as much as overly strident garden design or inappropriate expression at the other, can be seen as a matter of bad manners.
